2023 Alumni Hall of Fame
On Friday, October 27, 2023 PBS will induct six new members into the Alumni Hall of Fame. We are honored to have these alumni representing PBS in their careers, communities, and beyond.
Dr. Jordan Burnham – Abundant Life Hall of Fame Recipient
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Abundant Life is given to an alumnus who exemplifies a Christ-centered life and is considered an example and inspiration to those around them. This year’s recipient is Class of 2004 graduate – Jordan Burnham.
Jordan completed medical school at LSU and is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in retina surgery. In 2020 he opened Louisiana Retina. Vision loss is a profound emotional, physical, and spiritual experience and the practice is built on the foundation of Matthew 6:22 that “the eye is the lamp of the body.” Jordan’s wife and children are evidence of God’s grace and beauty in his life, and he prays that his role in their lives will help them love God more than the things of this world.
Kenny Watts – Academics Hall of Fame Recipient
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Academics is given to an alumnus who has excelled in academics, either as a student or teacher, or significantly contributed to the academic development in their community. This year’s recipient is Class of 1994 graduate – Kenny Watts.
While at PBS he scored almost perfect on the ACT & received the Eagle Award in 1993. He graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and is currently pursuing an Executive MBA, which will be his 3rd earned Masters Degree including a Masters in Biblical Counseling and a Masters in Biblical Studies. Kenny is a lifelong learner and firm believer in maintaining a constant growth mindset.
Shelley Regner – Arts Hall of Fame Recipient
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Arts is given to an alumnus who has excelled in the arts and has significantly impacted other individuals and their community to excel in the arts. This year’s recipient is Class of 2007 graduate – Shelley Regner.
Shelley received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Performance from Louisiana State University and currently lives in Los Angeles, California where she has been using her artistic talents in the entertainment industry for the past decade. Shelley is most recognized for her on-screen role as Barden Bella, Ashley, from the Pitch Perfect franchise. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, American Idol, and New York’s 54 Below and can currently be seen on Tubi in Underdeveloped, and in A Christmas Story the Musical at The Ahmanson Theater in December.
Erin Greenwich Boyette – Athletics Hall of Fame Recipient
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Athletics is given to an alumnus who has excelled in athletics, either as an athlete or coach, or significantly contributed to athletics in their community. This year’s recipient is Class of 2006 graduate – Erin Greenwich Boyette.
Erin attended LSU and received a Bachelors and a Master’s of Science degree in kinesiology with a concentration in pedagogy and psychological sciences while serving on the LSU sports medicine staff as a certified athletic trainer for both the Tiger volleyball and 2011 SEC Champion football teams. In 2012, she joined the Texas A&M sports medicine staff where she served as the head athletic trainer for the Aggie volleyball team and worked with the women’s golf and women’s tennis programs. Currently, Erin is in her fifth year in an administrative role within Baylor University athletics as the Director of Health and Wellness Operations.
Jay Taylor – Achievement Hall of Fame Recipient
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Achievement is given to an alumnus who has achieved success in their respective career. This year’s recipient is Class of 1997 graduate – Jay Taylor.
At the young age of 13, Jay started running sound at church, followed by chapel sound at PBS during his high school years. He started his career in audio engineering at Healing Place Church, and continued on to produce events such as College Football Playoff, The NFL Draft, Lalapooza and Essence Festival. In 2019, he ventured out to create his own production company, Katapult Events, which has successfully produced live events for thousands worldwide and streaming events hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.
John Hunter Miller – Isaiah 40:31 Hall of Fame Recipient
This year, we will continue the Isaiah 40:31 Award. This is a posthumous award that is given to an alum who exemplified Isaiah 40:31 throughout their life. This year’s recipient is John Hunter Miller.
John Hunter Miller, a 2014 graduate of Parkview Baptist School was an outstanding student and an acclaimed swimmer. However, he is most fondly remembered by his PBS classmates, family and friends for his fun loving and outgoing personality and ability to be a great friend. On occasion John would surprise and delight others with his wonderful singing voice. John and his adopted husky fur baby Murphy enjoyed countless hours at their favorite dog park.
