Above all, the church is committed to helping people take next steps in their relationship with Jesus Christ through loving God, loving people, pursuing purpose, and winning the world.
Josh has also served as part of the team at Leadership Network, helping churches from the US and Canada who are exploring the topic of multisite. He also currently serves as a Lead Candidate Coach for Chemistry Staffing – a firm that helps churches find great staff members.
Josh is involved in the Knoxville Community as a member of the Y-12 Federal Credit Union Advisory Board and as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees for the Christian Academy of Knoxville.
Josh’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Louisiana State University, a Masters of Divinity degree with biblical languages from Southwestern Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree in leadership and administration from New Orleans Seminary. He has 2 children – Hayden (16) and Madison (14). His wife of 18 years, Kim, passed away in September 2020 after a 3.5-year battle with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.
Josh’s life verse is found in Psalm 27:14 – “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Academics is given to an alumnus who has excelled in academics, either as a student or teacher, or significantly contributed to the academic development in their community. This year’s recipient is Dr. Paul Walker.
Dr. Paul Walker graduated from Parkview Baptist School in 1998. He received his undergraduate degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2002 and his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2007. Dr. Walker completed a urology residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and a fellowship in robotic and laparoscopic surgery at Urology San Antonio in Texas. After completing his robotic fellowship in 2013, he and his family moved back home to Baton Rouge.
Dr. Walker joined Louisiana Urology in September of 2013. He specializes in robotic surgery which allows him to surgically treat patients with prostate and kidney cancer and other disease processes. Dr. Walker enjoys the field of Urology and feels blessed to be able to help others through his profession.
He and his wife, Jill, have four children: John, Luke, Paige and Grace.
Dr. Walker enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his two son’s basketball teams. He is a big fan of LSU Football, Basketball and Baseball and has a strong faith in his Savior Jesus Christ.
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Arts is given to an alumnus who has excelled in the arts and has significantly impacted other individuals and their community to excel in the arts. This year’s recipient is Kendahl Quimby.
Kendahl Quimby graduated with honors from Parkview Baptist School in 2001, having been involved in several academic clubs as well as serving as co-captain of the nationally ranked Silver Steppers dance team. She then attended Louisiana State University, majoring and minoring in Biological Sciences and Sociology, respectively. She was also an active participant in LSU’s premedical society Alpha Epsilon Delta and is an alumnus member of the Delta Kappa chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Although she comes from a dental family (both parents and her twin sister!), God lead her to use her knowledge of the sciences and love for art in a unique way. Kendahl is a board certified ocularist who fits, fabricates, and hand-paints custom prosthetic eyes for patients who have lost one or both eyes due to disease or trauma.
She has been a practicing ocularist in Houston, Texas since 2007 at Soper Brothers & Associates, where master ocularist, Marcus P. Soper, trained her. She received both her American Society of Ocularists diplomate and National Examining Board of Ocularists board certification in 2013. She was an honored recipient of the Joseph A. LeGrand Sr. Memorial Lecture Award, given annually to the most accomplished ASO intern. She is a seasoned speaker and instructor for the American Society of Ocularists intern and continuing education programs. She is also a published author in the Journal of Ophthalmic Prosthetics. Kendahl has served on various ASO committees, including Education, Advertising Chair for the Journal of Ophthalmic Prosthetics, Board of Directors, and Vice President. She is currently holding office as the President of the American Society of Ocularists.
Kendahl feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to give her patients a piece of themselves back. Eyes are indeed windows to the soul and having the privilege to experience each patient’s journey through making them a custom prosthetic eye is so humbling. In her fourteen years of practice, each patient has impressed upon her something special — she has watched children grow into extraordinary adults, and she has gained priceless wisdom from her older loyal patients.
One of Kendahl’s favorite Bible verses that she holds close to heart daily is that of Matthew 17:20, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for you.” She is grateful to have been raised in a strong Christian household and to have attended Parkview Baptist School, both of which kept her rooted in her faith and steadfast in her walk with God. She is honored to be inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame alongside such impressive fellow Parkview graduates!
The Alumni Eagle Hall of Fame Award in Athletics is given to an alumnus who has excelled in athletics, either as an athlete or coach, or significantly contributed to athletics in their community. This year’s recipient is Dr. Kaylee Couvillion Woodard.
Kaylee is a 2008 graduate of Parkview Baptist. It was at Parkview that she was first introduced to the sport of jump rope. She joined the school’s jump rope team in the second grade under Coach Sunny Seale. She quickly fell in love with the sport and has continued to jump to this day, 25 years later. With the help of her mom, Ann Couvillion, as her coach along with her amazing teammates, Kaylee has won multiple national titles and six world championships during her jump rope career. She has also been blessed with opportunities to travel to 13 countries and more than 30 states, jumping for companies such as Cirque du Soleil, various TV shows, and the NBA. Kaylee’s passion for jump rope and fitness has also impacted her academic endeavors. After graduating from LSU, she went on to earn her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in exercise science fields. She now works as a professor at Western Kentucky University, serves within the International Jump Rope Union, and helps her husband Nick run their own jump rope company, called Learnin’ the Ropes. Kaylee is forever thankful for her Parkview family and for opportunities God has given her to use jump rope to make a positive difference in the world.
