REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION FROM RETIREMENT PLANS

If you are 70 ½ and have an IRA or other qualified retirement plan that requires you to take taxable distributions, please consider donating all or part of the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) to potentially receive significant tax advantages. A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a distribution from an IRA that is payable directly to an eligible charity and the amount of the QCD is excluded from income. The annual QCD limit per person is $100,000. Please consult with your financial advisor or custodian of your IRA, and/or contact Parkview’s Development team at giving@parkviewbaptist.com with any questions.

PLANNED GIVING

You can make a tremendous and lasting impact on the lives of the students of Parkview through the wise gift of a bequest or another planned gift. With a planned giving strategy you can put your assets to work for Parkview. There are many gift options that may benefit both you and Parkview, during your life or after your death.

BEQUESTS

The most common type of planned gift is a bequest, which is a gift of property or money made through one’s will or living trust. One can also name Parkview as a beneficiary to a life insurance policy, an IRA or other retirement plan, a charitable remainder trust, etc. There are many benefits to making this type of charitable donation; however, we believe the greatest is that you have made the ultimate gesture of your belief and support in the mission of Parkview.

What are the benefits of a bequest?
– Receive an estate tax charitable deduction.
– Reduce the burden of taxes on your family.
– Leave a lasting legacy to Parkview.

How does a bequest work?
A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. With the help of an attorney, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift to be made to family, friends or Parkview Baptist School as part of your estate plan, or you can make a bequest using a beneficiary designation form.

Here are some of the ways to leave a bequest to Parkview Baptist School:
– Include a bequest to Parkview Baptist School in your will or revocable trust.
– Designate Parkview Baptist School as a full, partial or contingent beneficiary of your retirement account (IRA, 401(k), 403(b) or pension).
– Name Parkview Baptist School as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.

A bequest may be made in several ways:
– Percentage bequest – make a gift of a percentage of your estate.
– Specific bequest – make a gift of a specific dollar amount or a specific asset.
– Residual bequest – make a gift from the balance or residue of your estate.
