High School Gym Renovation

Completed in 2023-2024, the “old gym” received its biggest facelift to date: new lighting, new playing surface, new color and paint, and the bleachers which were installed in 1988 were replaced. Now known as the middle school gym, it is ready to welcome Eagles for years to come thanks to generous Parkview Church and School donors.

Attention is now turned to the “new gym” or the high school gym, which opened for the 1999-2000 school year. This gym is the centerpiece for many school sports, student gatherings, and extracurricular functions for all age groups. It is also often the first exposure outside families have to Parkview’s campus, and we need it to reflect our school pride for years to come.

This parent-led project aims to raise over $250,000 to complete this renovation.

WHAT’S ALREADY HAPPENING?

  • Updating lighting in the lobby
  • Modernizing the trophy case
  • Improving the floor design and finish on the court
  • Refurbishing bleachers to make them fully functional
  • Updating HVAC
  • Fresh paint in the gym and lobby

      WHERE YOUR HELP IS NEEDED.

      • Raising the standard of our locker rooms: This is a priority for our coaching staff. New flooring for our boys’ locker room, updating lights and logos in both locker rooms to instill pride in our players and coaches for both basketball and volleyball. Improving aesthetics and function will keep these areas relevant for years to come. Fresh off of incredible back to back state titles by the girls’ basketball team, Parkview now boasts 5 basketball state championships, 1 state runner up, and 11 district championships. Our volleyball team is always among the best in the area and boasts 3 state championships and 17 district titles with the most recent one being this year. This renovation will pay homage to that championship history.
      • New videoboards and scorer’s table: These boards will allow the Parkview brand to pop using the latest technology for our teams. Players profiles, highlights, improved graphics, more complete scorekeeping, and digital advertising opportunities will become the standard.
      • Reimagining the main lobby and entryway: Updating the furniture, flooring, and concessions stand will give this space a big impact when families attend Parkview games in our gym. We plan to also have video screens on either side of the trophy case to provide information on our teams and our stats.
