Dautel and Dawson sign to play collegiate softball
Parkview Baptist Seniors, Nicky Dawson and Lexie Dautel, signed their letters of intent to play softball at the collegiate level today.
Dawson signed with Louisiana State University as one of seven signees for the 2017 season. She has been rewriting the record books at PBS since 8th grade including being a five-time all-district and all-metro selection and four time all-state selection. In 2015, Dawson took home most valuable player honors for the district and metro areas. She was also named the 2015 Mariucci Softball player of the year. Considered one of the top recruits in the state, Dawson finished the 2014 season hitting .602 with 41 RBIs, 74 hits and 59 stolen bases.
Dautel signed with William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Dautel is a four year starter for the Eagles and was named to the LSWA Class 3A All-State team last year. Dautel finished the season hitting .455 and lead the team in RBIs with 49.
