PBS 6th Graders had the opportunity to become the hands and feet of Christ on their annual Serve Day. The students started the day by blessing their teachers with a Scripture and a prayer written by them. They shared this prayer with their teachers one by one and then gave it to them. Avery Burnham led a devotion that God placed on her heart called God For Granted and then SaraKatherine Conger led in worship. The students, along with the 6th grade teachers, served at the Food Bank making around 200 bags of food for families in need for Thanksgiving. Another group went to Braveheart to pack boxes for foster children. A 3rd group went to the thrift store Kelly’s Kloset. Kelly (whom the store is named after) was a PBS student that passed away after a battle with cancer. The store provides clothes for women suffering from cancer. In the afternoon, the students enjoyed watching Facing the Giants at Celebrity Theaters. At the end of the day, the students wrote a reflection about their day.
