Name:
– Mrs. Olivia Buras
Grades and Subjects Teaching:
– 3rd Grade Teacher
Year you began your teaching career:
– 2017
Degrees:
– B.A. in English Literature from Louisiana State University
– B.A. in Vocal Performance from Louisiana State University
Tell us about your family:
– I grew up in Baton Rouge and graduated from Parkview as a thirteen-year senior. I got married in December of 2020 and we don’t have any children yet!

I’ve wanted to work in a Christian environment since I started teaching. God answered my prayers at the beginning of the school year! I also love Parkview because there is nothing like going to work everyday where everyone knows my name, my family, and (in some cases) watched me grow up!

Do you have an interesting fact?
– I attended the 2013 Tony Awards as a seat-filler and got to watch the whole show!
– I love to draw and do amateur calligraphy.

Why is Christian education important?
– Christian education is important because it nourishes a child’s spirit as well as their brains. I think families who really invest in a Christian education end up with children who are well-rounded, loving and truly have the Lord as the foundation for their lives.
