A-HEC of a Summer Program 2019

PBS Seniors Kristen and Heidi, and PBS Junior Jaila participated in A-HEC of a summer program at Woman’s Hospital recently. These young ladies were chosen based on GPA, transcript, teacher recommendation letters and an essay. The students were given the opportunity to explore different career opportunities in medicine by volunteering at local hospitals. During the 15 day period in June, students rotated through various healthcare fields, gained CPR certification, participated in interactive workshops and explored opportunities through field trips. This summer program is a state accredited elective with students receiving 1/2 elective credit in high school with completion of the program and earned 105 service hours.
