Parkview is a special place for many reasons. The school provides foundations in spiritual matters, academics, arts, and athletics. However, the most powerful element of being at Parkview is the relationships formed between those who are involved in all the varied aspects of the school.
In the spirit of holiday Hallmark Channel movies, I am reminded that I dated my future spouse, April, while I was a student at Parkview and we are still best friends after 27 years of marriage. As the season of re-enrollment approaches, I am so glad that I do not have to ask her if she wants to fill out the paperwork to “renew” our relationship each year! Some years, I wonder if she would take the effort to do the application.
When I came to Parkview five years ago, I was impressed that the school had a retention rate in the 90+% range and at how many students go to the school for ten years or more. I believe that is a testimony to the strong ties that people have within our system. It is truly a blessing to be surrounded by so many great people. As a natural extension of this high commitment level of our families, Parkview will be instituting continuous enrollment for the coming year. In the future, this should streamline the process and we will assume you want to stay enrolled unless you let us know during an opt out period each year. Otherwise it will be assumed that you want to keep the relationship going.
Over the past seven years, this has been a trend in private schools. I am glad Parkview will be joining this list of forward thinking schools in an effort to make things a little easier for our families. Be on the lookout for information on continuous enrollment as the re-enrollment season nears. You can also view this video from our communications office on the subject right here.
May we continue to be a strong family here at Parkview. I appreciate all that our families do to continue to make the school a special place. Now I have to go and be nice to Mrs. Mayes so she keeps me continuously enrolled!
