Middle School Greaux Day
Middle School students enjoyed Greaux Day on Monday, March 20. Students began the day with a Bible Trivia competition in their advisory groups followed by praise and worship and a message from Big Al on moving from head knowledge about Christ to transforming heart knowledge of Christ. After the message each advisory group sent their representative to the stage for a school wide Bible trivia competition. When the competition was over, each grade level winner took a turn in the cash prize machine.
The afternoon was kicked off by advisories competing in a tug of war competition. Once grade level winners were determined, a school wide champion was found. The final round came down to the Mrs. Wales’ 8th grade boys against Mrs. Berryhill’s 5th grade girls. What seemed like an inevitable loss for the girls was turned into a resounding victory when the male teachers jumped in to pull along with the girls. As we discussed the competition, Mrs. Dieterich shared with the students that as you walk your faith out sometimes God ask you to do things that you can’t do in your own power just like the 5th grade girls were asked to do in the tug of war. It is then that the holy spirit “pulls with you”. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9-11
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
