Refuel, Refocus, and Restore

Faculty and Staff enjoy breakfast together
Although students won’t return until tomorrow, Parkview Baptist Faculty and Staff returned today for a January faculty workday. One of the best parts about working at Parkview Baptist is the opportunity to worship with like-minded believers that are on staff. After a sweet time of worship led by Middle School Faculty members Jonathan White and Phillip Hawke, Dr. Mayes drew an analogy of the halftime meeting during the State Championship game in the Superdome. During that meeting, football players took the time to REFUEL physically, while coaches helped them to REFOCUS their perspective, and finally they took some time to RESTORE themselves before going back out for the second half.
This was a great reminder to our faculty of what the Christmas break was all about. Dr. Mayes encouraged us to refuel, refocus and restore ourselves during “halftime” of the 14-15 school year. We have a lot going on this year, with the culmination of a strategic plan, the beginning of a master plan, and continued work on accreditation, but if we stay focused spiritually then we can do all things with excellence.
After additional presentations introducing the new website, giving an update on the accreditation process, and going over safety and security plans, faculty spent the rest of the day in divisions and departments preparing for the horizontal and vertical alignment of curriculum that will take place in the next several months. Special thanks to Nancy Crifasi and the entire lunchroom staff for preparing a wonderful breakfast and lunch (including Ms. Bert’s amazing bread pudding!)
Your faculty and staff feel refueled, refocused and restored….and ready to take on 2nd semester PARKVIEWSTRONG!
Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are filling quickly! One class is already full, and availability is becoming limited across several grade levels. Apply today to reserve your student’s place at Parkview Baptist School.
