The site is a work in progress and will be updated over the coming weeks with more videos, photos, testimonials and information. EARLY CHILDHOOD

Dear Early Childhood Parents,

I know that 2015 holds many great things for PBS.  For starters,  we have a new and improved website. As you look at the site, please remember that this is a work in progress and will improve daily. You will see even more pictures of our Early Childhood babies in the coming weeks. A very heartfelt thank you to our Communications team for making this happen.

Here in Early Childhood we are anxiously waiting for our students’ return on Tuesday. There is a lot of learning to be done! Please get back in the habit of checking folders nightly.

Reading is so very important so please read with your child each night. You can read to them or they can read to you. Ask questions to make sure your child is understanding the story. You and your child can even talk about changing the ending of the story. Make this a fun time and you will be surprised what the both of you could learn.
Chapel will resume on Thursday morning. This is a very special time for us and you are always welcome to attend. It is my favorite time of the week.

Please know that if you ever need anything, all you have to do is ask. Keep us in your prayers as you are always in ours.

In Christ,

Ms. Cathy

ELEMENTARY

Dear Elementary Parents,

Happy New Year!  I hope you all are enjoying the start of what I pray will be a great year!  I know you and your kids are gearing up to start our second semester this Tuesday, so here are a few things for you before we get started.

Please remember that we do not have school on Monday.  School faculty and staff will be having meetings and preparing for the start of school on Tuesday.  Carpool will begin at 7:30 and I hope to see you then.

Chapel this Thursday will be a dress chapel.  Please refer to the guidelines for dress chapel attire.  As always, I invite you to attend our chapel services each Thursday at 8:15 in the church sanctuary.

I wanted to thank all of you again who gave me Christmas gifts.  I was able to thank some of you personally, but every time I walked out of my office and came back in there were more gifts on my desk!  Thank you again for all of this, but more importantly, thank you for the opportunity to help in educating your children.  I look forward to beginning the new semester with you and finishing out the school year PARKVIEWSTRONG!
Have a great week!

In HIS Grip,

Jeff Lilley, Elementary Division Head

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year!  I am just returning from an extended family vacation to the mountains. We had a great time relaxing and refreshing. I hope this is exactly what you and your family did over the Christmas break.

Although students will not return until Tuesday, I wanted to update you on what the teachers will be up to on Monday. It is important for us, as a faculty, to begin a new year on the same page. We only get a chance a couple of times a year to worship and meet together as a faculty, so we will be doing just that.  After having breakfast, praise and worship and a devotion together as a whole school faculty, we will be breaking up into smaller groups – Early Childhood and Elementary together; Middle and High School together.

In those groups, we will begin curriculum work in our departments – Math, Science, Social Studies, English, Bible, Second Languages, Technology, Electives and Physical Education. This is an integral part of the accreditation process and is the first step in vertically aligning curriculum from PreK all the way to 12th grade to make sure that our PBS graduates are completely prepared, with no gaps in any strand of their PBS education. It is a lot of work that will be the focus of our professional development over the next 18 months, but it is necessary and is a hallmark of an excellent school that is committed to continuous improvement. Stay tuned on the website, social media and blog posts over the next several months as we track our progress in the months leading up to our accreditation visit.

2015 is promising to be Parkview’s strongest year ever. Please continue to pray for our school, our staff and our students.

Blessings,

Joana Dieterich, Middle School Division Head

HIGH SCHOOL

Dear High School Parents,

I hope you enjoyed your holiday break with your family and had the opportunity to spend some quality time with the Lord.  I love the fresh start that a new year provides, and I am eager and excited to be a part of the Lord’s work here at Parkview Baptist School for 2015.  I am confident He has grand plans for us this year.

I would like to remind you of the upcoming “Meet the Principal” sessions, beginning this Thursday. I would love to get a chance to meet you in a smaller setting and allow you to hear my vision for Parkview Baptist High School.

There are a number of different options that will hopefully accommodate both our working and non-working parents. You may sign up for sessions before work – 7:00-8:00am (coffee provided!), on your lunch break – 12:00-1:00pm (feel free to pick up something to eat on the way and eat while we chat), or after work – 6:00-7:00pm. All of the sessions will be held in the church Mission Cafe, and we will keep them to an hour to get you back to your obligations.

I hope you will make every effort to attend one of the sessions. I want to share my heart for the school as well as seven goals that I have to make the high school even stronger over the next few years.

Please CLICK HERE to sign up. You do NOT need to create an account but you will need to put your name, child(ren’s) name and grade levels. There is limited capacity at each session to allow for a more personal discussion. I look forward to partnering with our parents in providing the best education for your children.

As we begin this new year and next semester, please commit to join me in praying for our school and for our students each and every day.  As James 5:16 states, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.”  Let us all be completely dependent upon our Lord, not only every day, but each and every hour.

For His Glory,

Ben D. Haindel

High School Division Head
