Congratulations to Senior Matthew Murla!

Parkview Baptist Senior Matthew Murla has received a football scholarship to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.

Murla, a linebacker and fullback, has attended Parkview Baptist for six years. He has a 3.9 GPA and consistently leads the team in community service hours, including serving at the Baton Rouge Food Bank.

Murla plays a vital role in the success of the Parkview Baptist Football program. The Eagles finished last year on top with a 2015 Division II LHSAA State Championship title and look forward to a repeat in the Superdome this December.

Head Coach Jay Mayet said, “Matthew has been a valuable part of our program and continues to lead the team both on and off the field. He will be an asset to whatever school he chooses to attend.”

“I am so thankful to my coaches at Parkview for all the help they have given me. I am excited about the prospect of being able to attend the Air Force Academy, given its long standing tradition,” Murla said.

Murla is the son of Michael and Connie Murla of Baton Rouge.
