Revised Schedule for the Beginning of School
Dear PBS Families,
We are hoping and praying that as the sunshine came today and the flood waters are starting to recede, that our school families are starting to get their bearings. Thank you to those of you that have checked in and let us know your status.
After realizing how wide-spread the this flood’s devastation has been, we have decided to make some modifications in this week’s schedule.
REVISED SCHEDULE
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- Parkview Baptist will be closed. No faculty in-service, no holiday camp. Faculty who can safely come to campus and would like to work in their classroom can let their Division Head know.
- The ADMISSIONS office will be open from 9:00-3:00 on those three days. With so many districts closed indefinitely, you may know families that need admission for their students either temporarily or for the entire school year. We do have capacity in some grade levels, and we will make every effort to help them and offer enrollment as long as we have space.
- Please give families that you know the Office of Admissions email address – admissions@parkviewbaptist.com and Cindy Harrison and Courtney Haindel will assist them in the process. We understand some students may not be able to access their school records and we will work with them. We will have an abbreviated application for our temporary applicants.

- We will move forward with a revised schedule for all of our Back to School Events

The Elementary and Early Childhood Open House/Meet the Teacher is not mandatory. If you are still dealing with flooding or if you cannot get safely to Parkview Baptist, do not worry! We will see you for school on Monday morning.
High School and Middle School Prep Day is mandatory for students – IF YOU CAN SAFELY GET TO PARKVIEW. Please do not put yourself in any danger! We will have a makeup time for pictures, etc, for those that cannot attend on Friday.
Once school begins, we will send out more communication on our plan for making up the three missed school days, if needed. We want to wait to see what the State mandates.
Many of you have asked about your child not having uniforms, etc ready for Prep Day or for the first day of school. We totally understand we are dealing with an extraordinary situation and we will extend grace! Be looking for an email tomorrow morning where families will have an opportunity to submit what needs they have, and an opportunity for families to donate to meet those needs. Those of you that have extra uniforms that no longer fit, we may ask you to bring them to school for those who lost theirs.
We are still compiling information about our displaced families and we will send out that communication tomorrow morning. A HUGE thank you to our families that have jumped at the opportunity to host families or volunteer. We are hoping to have enough information and opportunities that our whole school family will have an opportunity to serve this weekend. Our senior class was scheduled to go on a retreat this weekend and has already asked if they can instead go out and serve our community in the clean-up process. We would love for our whole school and church community to be able to serve each other together. Stay tuned for details.
Amidst this tragedy, this has been an incredible showing of our #parkviewstrong community! We will see you all on Friday.
Psalm 124
If the Lord had not been on our side— let Israel say—
the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us,
the raging waters would have swept us away.
Praise be to the Lord… We have escaped like a bird
from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken,
and we have escaped.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth
Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are filling quickly! One class is already full, and availability is becoming limited across several grade levels. Apply today to reserve your student’s place at Parkview Baptist School.
