Adjusted Schedule due to Flooding

Message from Dr. Mayes

Dear PBS Families,

Our prayers go out to all of our PBS family who are being affected by this storm.  We have many staff members and families who are dealing with a lot of uncertainty and some have already had to evacuate homes.  The school is compiling a list of everyone who has been affected so we can best determine how to get everyone through this time.  One thing I do know is that we CAN do this with God’s help and He promises to never leave or forsake us!

 

We have determined that we need to adjust our schedule this week to give everyone a chance to assess damage and plan.  We have the best families and staff in the area so I know we will push forward and overcome all hurdles.  We will communicate as much as possible to let all of our families know about any changes.  Until then, continue to help your neighbors and stay safe.

Adjusted Schedule for the week

We will take this week’s activities and move them forward two days.

MONDAY, August 15 – Campus closed. No inservice, no holiday camp.

TUESDAY, August 16– Campus closed. No inservice, no holiday camp.

WEDNESDAY, August 17 – We will have activities that were planned for MONDAY.

• Faculty will have inservice as previously planned for Monday
• Holiday Camp available for kids PreK-6th – CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
• High School Prep Day 8:30-3:00 (Same schedule as before)
• Upper Middle School Prep Night (7^th and 8^th grade) 4:00-6:00 – HS Gym
• Early Childhood Open House for Parents 4:30-6:30 (in EC Hallway)
• Elementary Open House for Parents 6:00-7:30 – Parents will go straight to Elem building (rather than beginning in Sanctuary)

THURSDAY, August 18 – We will have activities that were planned for TUESDAY.

• Faculty will have inservice as previously planned for Tuesday.
• Holiday Camp available for kids PreK-6th – CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
• 9:00-12:00 – Meet the Teacher available for Early Childhood and Elementary
• Lower Middle School Prep Night (5^th Grade 4:00-5:30, 6^th Grade 5:30-6:30) – High School Gym

FRIDAY, August 19 – First day of school for ALL STUDENTS PreK-12^th

• Early Childhood will not have staggered start – All EC students will begin Friday
• Back to School Bash – TBA

SATURDAY, August 20 – Senior Retreat as planned

The two days of school that we miss will be made up on Tuesday, September 27 (previously planned as a PD day) and on Wednesday, January 4 (previously planned as a PD day). We will get you a revised calendar asap.
