Crisis Intervention
The following programs provide assessment and intervention during a crisis situation.
Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center – 225-924-1431/ www.brcic.org Offers prevention, intervention, and postvention services to those in crisis or to those who have lost a loved one to suicide.
Children’s Bereavement Program , Groups are designed to assist children between the ages of 3-16 in dealing with the death of a loved one. Children and their parents/caregivers may also be seen individually. To refer, have individual call the business line during office hours and ask for Dr. Norton or Tiffany Reed. There is no charge for the group.
24 Hour Crisis Line – 225-924-3900
Survivors of Suicide Support Program, Support group and individual counseling services for family and friends of those who have completed suicide. Interested persons can call the business line to schedule an assessment interview. Persons must schedule an intake prior to receiving support group services.

Child Abuse
Baton Rouge Children’s Advocacy Center 343-1984, http://www.batonrougecac.org/ , Provide a child-friendly atmosphere for the forensic interviews of abused children; coordinate the investigative, judicial, social service, and mental health systems that respond to reports of abuse; provide community referrals for mental health, medical, and victim advocacy services; facilitate weekly support groups for non-offending parents of sexual abuse victims; provide individual therapy for child victims of sexual abuse. Provide information/education throughout the community to increase the public’s awareness of the devastating effects of child abuse.
