Kindness Week

Kindness Week 2026 will take place Monday-Friday, February 9–13 and offers a meaningful opportunity for Parkview Baptist School students to intentionally focus on kindness, unity, and service. Across all divisions—Early Childhood through High School—students will be encouraged to reflect God’s love through everyday actions that strengthen our school and bless our community.

This year’s theme, “Better Together,” is rooted in Scripture:
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1)

At Parkview Baptist School, our Counseling Team seeks to support students in body, mind, and spirit—helping them grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Kindness Week is one of the ways we intentionally live out that mission, providing students with practical opportunities to practice empathy, gratitude, and service in developmentally appropriate ways. While the heart behind Kindness Week is shared schoolwide, each division will participate through activities designed specifically for their age group.

High School students will engage in Kindness Week through campus-based activities and intentional opportunities to serve and encourage others. As leaders on campus, they will be challenged to model kindness in their words, actions, and relationships, reinforcing the idea that our community is strongest when we care for one another. In addition, High School students will be collecting snack baskets to bless local police departments as a way to thank those who serve and protect our community.

Middle School students will participate in themed kindness days throughout the week, encouraging them to think intentionally about how small acts can make a meaningful impact. The themed days include:
Random Act of Kindness Day
Friends and Family Day
Be Kind to Yourself Day
Staff Appreciation Day
Community Day
Middle School & High School students will support the Baton Rouge and St. George Fire Departments by assembling snack baskets for local fire stations. Middle School Community Groups will work together to collect baskets, snacks, and drinks and package them together on Friday. Students can earn community points for participating, and parents are invited to volunteer to help deliver baskets to the stations.

Elementary students will focus their service efforts on blessing members of our school family, specifically our cafeteria and maintenance teams. Students will collect snacks and drinks and help prepare baskets to thank those who serve our campus daily. This project reinforces lessons of gratitude, teamwork, and appreciation for others who quietly support our school.

Early Childhood students will experience Kindness Week through hands-on, joyful acts of service. Our youngest Eagles will collect snacks and drinks to bless local police stations—many of whose officers also serve our campus through security and traffic support. Officers will visit campus to receive items directly from the students and share how they help care for our community, allowing children to tangibly express gratitude and learn about the important role community helpers play.

Flex students will also participate in Daily Acts of Kindness throughout the week, with each day focused on intentional actions such as writing notes of appreciation, helping a classmate, or serving others in practical ways. Flex themed days include:
Monday – Random Act of Kindness Day
Tuesday – Friends and Family Day
Wednesday – Staff Appreciation Day
Thursday – Community Day (the final day to bring snacks)
Friday – Be Kind to Yourself Day.
Community Service Project: Flex has chosen to support our local Fire Department. We will be collecting snacks throughout the week and putting together Snack Baskets on Thursday, February 12th. The following items would be a great addition to the snack basket: salty snacks (chips, popcorn), sweet snacks (candy, cookies), beef jerky, protein bars, and 6 packs of Gatorade or Powerade.

Across all divisions, students will also create thank-you cards through writing or drawing to encourage those they are serving. Families are welcome to participate by making cards together at home as well.

We invite parents to partner with us by encouraging participation, modeling kindness at home, and talking with your children about the importance of unity and service as followers of Christ. Our hope is that Kindness Week is meaningful, joyful, and simple—allowing students to practice purposeful acts of kindness while honoring the rhythm of the school day.

Together, we are better. And together, we reflect God’s love to our school and our community.
