At Parkview Baptist School, academic excellence is more than a goal—it is a calling. One of the ways we celebrate and encourage this commitment is through our PBS ACT Recognition Clubs, which honor high school students who demonstrate outstanding achievement on the ACT.
These clubs recognize students who have reached specific score benchmarks, reflecting discipline, perseverance, and a commitment to growth: • Bronze Club: ACT scores of 20–23 • Silver Club: ACT scores of 24–27 • Gold Club: ACT scores of 28–31 • Platinum Club: ACT scores of 32–36
Earning membership in one of these clubs is no small accomplishment and represents countless hours of preparation, study, and determination.
In addition to celebrating academic achievement, membership in any of the PBS ACT Recognition Clubs may also place students within eligibility range for Louisiana’s TOPS scholarship, provided they meet the other required criteria. This connection further reinforces the importance of ACT preparation, as strong performance can open doors not only to college admission but also to significant financial support for higher education.
This recognition directly reflects Parkview’s value of Academics and our high school mission to be College-Ready, Christ-Centered, and Committed to Growth. We believe strong academic preparation opens doors for future opportunities, while character and faith guide students in how they use those opportunities.
Academic success at PBS is not pursued in isolation. Our faculty and staff intentionally partner with students to challenge them, support them, and equip them with the skills needed to think critically, communicate clearly, and perform with confidence. This year, that support has been strengthened even further with the addition of Mrs. Connie Mashburn, our new College and Career Advisor. Mrs. Mashburn has begun the year with energy and focus, helping high school students navigate college and career planning with clarity and confidence. She works closely alongside Mrs. Caitlyn Klingman, who guides our 8th and 9th grade students, creating a seamless approach to student support from the very start of high school through graduation.
The ACT Recognition Clubs serve as both a celebration of achievement and a reminder of what is possible when students are encouraged to strive for excellence. For many students, the ACT represents one of the first tangible steps into their future—impacting college acceptance, scholarship eligibility, and readiness for the academic rigor of college. Since launching ACT Clubs and implementing intentional ACT preparation strategies within classrooms this fall, we have already seen an overall two-point growth among students who tested on national ACT dates. This growth reflects the power of intentional preparation, accountability, and targeted support.
Through data-driven instruction, small-group focus, and consistent faculty encouragement, students are gaining more than testing strategies—they are developing confidence, ownership, and momentum in their academic journey. Our goal is that every Parkview high school student will fall into one of these four ACT clubs before graduation, ensuring they leave PBS prepared, confident, and college-ready.
As a Christ-centered school, we believe academic preparation is also an act of stewardship, using diligence and discipline to honor God and responsibly steward the opportunities He has placed before our students.
We are proud of each student recognized through our ACT Recognition Clubs and grateful for a learning environment that values hard work, integrity, and growth. As our Eagles continue to soar academically, we remain committed to preparing them not only for college, but for lives of purpose, leadership, and service.
