PBS Middle School Students Surprise Teacher with Gift
Students Surprise Teacher With Walking Pad Gift
At Parkview Baptist, we believe in nurturing the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—through our commitment to Abundant Life. Recently, our middle school community lived out those values in a beautiful and unexpected way.
Middle School teacher Jennifer Ridley shared with her students that she had entered a step challenge and was eager to do her best. Her students encouraged her to win but quickly realized it would be difficult for her to compete while teaching in the classroom all day.
That’s when the students decided to take action. Using their own Snack Shack money, they began pooling funds together to purchase a walking pad for Mrs. Ridley. They quietly organized, writing down names in a brown pencil case and even bringing their plan to Mrs. Jones for help. Then, in 4th block, they surprised Mrs. Ridley with their thoughtful gift.
“I was so humbled and so in awe of God’s love through them to me,” Mrs. Ridley shared. “Their generosity reminded me of how much God works through our students each day.”
This act of kindness is a beautiful reflection of the spirit at PBS—students who not only support one another, but also honor their teachers in ways that embody our values. We are grateful for Mrs. Ridley’s example of sharing her life with her students, and we are so proud of our Eagles for showing such creativity, generosity, and love.
This moment is a reminder of what it means to be an Eagle—living out generosity, community, and God’s love in everyday life.
