Spreading Love & Kindness: PBS Kindness Week 2024
At Parkview Baptist School, kindness isn’t just something we practice for one week—it’s part of who we are. Kindness Week is a special time when our students go above and beyond to serve others, show appreciation, and make a difference in our community.
This week was rooted in 1 John 3:18 – “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 💙 Through service projects, donations, and intentional acts of kindness, our students put this scripture into action, demonstrating what it truly means to love others through service.
Early Childhood & Elementary: Comfort & Care for Life Source Hospice
Our youngest Eagles learned the joy of giving to those in need by collecting donations for Life Source Hospice, providing comfort and love to patients through:
💙 Soft-bristle hairbrushes & combs
💙 Gloves & socks
💙 Cozy throw blankets
💙 Handmade Valentine’s cards
To end the week, these students shared kindness with their classmates during Valentine’s exchanges, proving that small gestures can bring big smiles.
Middle School: Giving Back & Themed Acts of Kindness
Middle schoolers stepped up in a big way by collecting essential household and personal care items for The Forgotten Initiative’s Blessing Closet, including:
✨ Cleaning supplies
✨ Baby products
✨ Hair care essentials
✨ Household items
Each day of the week also had a special kindness focus:
💙 Monday – Random Act of Kindness Day 🤝
💙 Tuesday – Friends & Family Day ❤️
💙 Wednesday – Be Kind to Yourself Day ✨
💙 Thursday – Staff Appreciation Day 🎉
💙 Friday – Community Day 🌍
Middle schoolers earned community points and Challenge Day points for their donations, adding a fun, competitive twist to their generosity!
High School: Supporting the IRIS Domestic Violence Center
Our high school students dedicated their week to supporting IRIS Domestic Violence Center, collecting:
🏠 Personal care products
🏠 Household essentials
🏠 Cleaning supplies
Their efforts provided tangible support to individuals and families in crisis, showing that kindness can truly change lives. Like middle schoolers, high school students earned community and Challenge Day points as they worked toward making an impact.
A Sweet Treat for PBS Faculty & Staff
In addition to all the student-led acts of kindness, our wonderful PTF hosted a delicious “Sweet Treat” for PBS staff and faculty today in honor of Valentine’s Day! 🍪🍓🍫 Their generosity and thoughtfulness made the day even sweeter for our hardworking teachers and staff who pour into our students every day!
Kindness in the Everyday Moments
While Kindness Week is full of special projects, it’s important to remember that kindness isn’t just about grand gestures—it’s in the everyday moments, too. PBS students continued loving on each other, laughing with friends, working hard in the classroom, and simply enjoying being part of a school family that values faith, compassion, and community.
Kindness That Lasts Beyond the Week
At PBS, Kindness Week is more than just five days of good deeds—it’s a celebration of the values we live by every day. By serving our community, uplifting others, and leading with love, our students learn that kindness isn’t just an action; it’s a way of life.
We are incredibly proud of our students, families, and faculty who participated in Kindness Week 2024. Thank you for making a difference and showing the world what it means to be a PBS Eagle!
