Name:
– Mrs. Aaron-Ashley Yorn
Title:
– Child Life Specialist, Counseling Team
Year you began your career:
– 2012
Degrees:
– B.S in Family & Child Studies with a Child Life concentration from Louisiana Tech University

Tell us about your family:
– I am married to a wonderful husband, Sereya Yorn. We have three precious kiddos who are all at PBS this year: Henry (9 years old in 3rd grade), Peter (4 years old in PK-4), and Sophie (9 months). As a family, we enjoy going on long road trips and exploring nature. In the summer of 2023, we traveled east to Maine. In 2024, we went west to Colorado.

“My favorite Scripture verse is Exodus 14:14: “The Lord your God will fight for you; you need only be still.”

Do you have an interesting fact?
– I love to write poetry and water ski!
– I was a camp counselor at Pine Cove and my counselor name was “Rappin Paper”; when you see me around campus, ask me why!
What made you want to come to Parkview?
– I wanted to continue working in a Christian school. God opened a door at Parkview that exceeded my expectations. The gift of having all three of my children with me is a blessing beyond words!
Why is Christian education important?
– Christian education is a gift to children and our world. Having a child learn in a safe, nurturing environment where the “banner over them is love” (God’s love) is priceless. Children grow and learn with intention, so that they can spread their wings and shine Christ’s light in our world.
Anything else awesome & interesting you want the PBS family to know?
– I am so excited to serve alongside an amazing staff at PBS. Being able to be a Child Life Specialist on staff at a Christian School is a dream job! I look so forward to supporting our youngest Eagles through providing therapeutic play, expressive art, supportive listening, and a whole lot of Jesus’ love!
