Name:
– Mrs. Lauren Duncan
Grades and Subjects Teaching:
– 2nd Grade
Year you began your teaching career:
– 2012
Degrees:
– B.S. in Elementary Education from LSU
Tell us about your family:
– I was born and raised in Baton Rouge and grew up loving the Tigers and Louisiana! My husband (Reed Duncan) and I met at Parkview as new kids in 6th grade and quickly became best friends. We graduated in 2005 (TK05!) from PBS and stayed close until sparks flew years later. We finally got married (to no one’s surprise but ours) in 2018. Olivia Lee was born on Valentine’s Day 2019 and is 4 years old in PreK at Parkview as a second generation Eagle forever.

“The supportive family community and the Christ-centered education makes Parkview a dream opportunity for my life, family and career. God led me back here (PBS Class of ’05) at the perfect time showing a great sense of humor along the way. I’ve never felt more at home.”

Do you have an interesting fact?
– After college and before my teaching career began, I had a successful business cutting and painting signs for teachers and Louisiana themed door hangers, selling with Fleurty Girl and all over the world.
– My hidden talent is not having a hidden talent!

Why is Christian education important?
– To instill faith, belief and love into a child’s life and educational experience in order for them to lead a purposed and awesome life. To learn about God’s love and receive His love. The teachings of the Bible reflect on the students here as they are taught to be kind, respectful, accepting of others and faithful. I’ve never met a group of children who are as accepting, sincere, respectful and understanding as these students who have been raised at Parkview.
