In January the Parkview Bass Fishing Team of Hunter Hamilton and Noah Higgins finished State Runner-Up in the LHSAA TBF MLF Tournament on Toledo Bend.  Their second place finish qualified them for the 2023 -14th Annual High School Fishing World Final & National Championship on the Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wisconsin June 20-24.  Hunter, Noah, and their families made the 17-1/2 hour trek north the weekend prior to the tournament for the official practice days.  Practice went really well which translated well into the first day of the tournament also.  On Day 1, Team Hunter and Noah were able to bring their 3 fish limit to weigh-in for 10 pounds 5 ounces which earned them 7th place out of 396 boats competing.  Day 2 proved to be more challenging but they were able to bring 3 more fish to weigh-in for 7 pounds 6 ounces and only dropped to 29th place.  The Day 2 finish placed them in second place out of 20-plus teams from Louisiana which qualified them for the semi-final round in the World Finals on Friday of that week.  Friday started well, filling the 3 fish limit quickly but finding the bigger bites proved to be difficult again.  At weigh-in, their 3 fish limit weighed 8 pounds 6 ounces which was good for 29th place again out of 393 boats. The second National Championship tournament will take place July 27-29.
