PBS Elementary students in the Outdoors Club and Cooking Club enjoyed a fun campfire experience during Club Hour this week. The Outdoors Club, led by Mr. Daniel McCulloch, learned the key elements to building a safe outdoor fire. Each group built their fires using an enclosed space, small kindling, larger logs and plenty of oxygen. Mr. McCulloch went around to each group once their campfire was built and provided the most important element – a flame! The students were excited to see their campfire come to life to provide warmth and a heating element for cooking. Today, the fires were put to good use by the Cooking Club who then joined the group with smores ingredients. The Cooking Club, led by Mrs. Beth Tidwell, roasted marshmallows on their friends fires and then assembled smores which were enjoyed by all! What a fun day in Elementary Clubs!
