Danny Smith has been named the new Athletic Director for the Parkview Baptist Eagles and will take over the helm starting with the 2022-23 school year.

Smith replaces Darron Mitchell who spent 14 years in an administrative role in Parkview Athletics including the last four years as the Athletic Director.

A native of Brookhaven, Miss, Smith has 40-plus years working in high school athletics and served as the head football coach at Leesville High School from 1991-98, athletic director at DeRidder from 1999-2000, assistant AD at St. Amant from 2006-08 and assistant AD at Pickering in 2016.

While at Leesville, Smith coached a number of standouts including LSU greats Cecil Collins, Eddie Fuller and Kevin Mawae. His Wampus Cats team in 1995 made it to the 4A State Championship game with a record of 13-2.

Smith has a B.S. in Health and P.E. from McNeese State University and spent the last three years at Parkview teaching bible classes and serving as an assistant for both the football and track and field teams.
