Boys Track and Field 4×800 Relay Team Wins State Title

On Saturday, May 7th members of the boys and girls track team who qualified for the Outdoor Track and Field State Championship squared off against the best athletes in the state at LSU’s Bernie Moore Track Stadium.   The athletes who qualified for State were:
Reed – 4×800 Relay
Kohl – 1600m and 4×800 Relay
A’Nius -Javelin
Aiden – 1600m and 4×800 Relay
Anna Claire – Javelin
Wyatt – 3200m and 4×800 Relay
In a thrilling race that came down to Kohl, the anchor leg, fighting off two other schools; the members of the boys 4×800 relay team were named State Champions and broke the Class 3A record with a time of 8:25.17.  Members of the relay team are Wyatt, Reed, Aiden, and Kohl.  These boys were also members of the 2021 3A Cross Country State Championship team.
A’Nius finished 7th in the javelin with a throw of 127’.  Anna Claire finished 5th in the javelin with a throw of 98’04”.  In the 1600m Aiden finished 4th (4:39.64) and Kohl finished 7th (5:03.68) In the 3200m Wyatt finished 5th (10:28.99).
