Meet Mrs. Guillory

Name:
– Mrs. Amy Guillory
Grades and Subjects Teaching:
– High School Teacher
Year you began your teaching career:
– 2013
Degrees:
– B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana State University
– M.A.T. in Secondary Education from Louisiana State University
Tell us about your family:
– I grew up in Central, Louisiana. I met my husband Reed in the engineering program at LSU and we’ve been married for 6 years.
I think that working with like minded colleagues in a Christ-centered atmosphere is so important. Our ultimate goal for the students is the same. I’ve heard wonderful things about Parkview, as well as its students. I’m truly excited to share my knowledge with this community.

Do you have an interesting fact?
– My husband and I take our dog Emmy on bike rides and she rides in a doggy backpack!
– I have a small business by making handcrafted earrings.
Why is Christian education important?
– I think there is a misconception that it’s difficult to find a connection between the fields of religion and science/math. In reality, teaching my students the scientific and mathematic explanations for things in the world helps them strengthen their faith. It’s important to see the beauty in the system that humans have come up with to explain what God has created for us.
