Name:
– Mrs. Emily Tong
Grades and Subjects Teaching:
– 2nd Grade Teacher
Year you began your teaching career:
– 2013
Degrees:
– B.S. in Elementary Education from Southeastern Louisiana University
Tell us about your family:
– My husband is from China and we have been married for 5 years. We have two very adorable and lively boys, Ezra and Ean, who are learning Mandarin at home, so I guess I’d better learn too and quickly!

Many of my church friends have children who either work at the school or attend as students. I’ve always heard wonderful things and I am truly so thankful to finally be here to experience all the greatness for myself!

Do you have an interesting fact?
– My two hidden talents consists of singing and playing soccer.
– I’ve been to several countries such as Indonesia, Portugal, Mexico, China, and Amsterdam.
– I like jokes. Seriously, laughing and making people laugh is my favorite thing to do.
Why is Christian education important?
– It’s so important now, more than ever I believe, because we live in a world where the view is so deeply embedded and pushed that everyone has their own truth and it’s okay to live however you want to. This is such a dangerous mindset and it’s important that we teach our young ones God’s unchanging truth, because if we don’t who will?
