This year marks the 30th anniversary of Disney’s The Little Mermaid and we want you to come be a part of our world! The show runs April 1-6 at 7:30 p.m. in the High School gym.

Tickets can be purchased by clicking here

Please note: Bleacher seats are still available for ALL shows and can be purchased at the door only.

This years show features 81 cast members from three divisions on our campus. There are 45 Middle School/High School students, 16 fourth grade students, and 20 crew members hard at work under the direction of Ms. Lori Kaiser and Mrs. Lisa Smith. Both teachers have been an integral part of the PBS Arts Department with years of experience and expertise.

Meet Ariel, also known as Caroline Arrington who is a junior here at PBS.

– How many times have you participated in a Parkview Production?

I have been in two Parkview productions, Grease as Sandy and now The Little Mermaid.

– How many years have you been involved in theatre?

Seven years.

– What activities or clubs are you involved in?

I am in the cooking club and drama club. I am a member of the PBS Silver Steppers, and I also participate in choir and voice lessons.

– What are three fun facts about you?

I have five cats.

Ariel has always been my favorite princess.

I used to live in Texas.

*Caroline plans to attend the musical theatre summer program at NYU’s Tisch in New York City.

Meet Prince Eric, also known as Christian Smalley who is a senior here at PBS.

– How many times have you participated in a Parkview Production?

This is the second Parkview Production that I’ve been involved in. I was a member of the chorus in “Grease” last year.

– How many years have you been involved in theatre?

I have only been involved in theater for two years now. I moved to Parkview my Junior year and took a chance by doing “Grease” and loved it! I wanted to experience the rush again by being a lead role this year.

– What activities or clubs are you involved in?

I am in Beta, National Honors Society, Mu Alpha Theta, FCA, and Drama Club, and I’m on the PBS Golf Team.

– What are three fun facts about you?

I taught myself how to play guitar when I was 14 and have loved playing ever since.

I’m partially blind in my right eye because of a baseball injury in 2016.

I have to drink a cup of coffee every morning or it will not be a good day.

Backstage pass with Director, Ms. Kaiser.

– How long have you been at Parkview?

       13 years

– What classes do you teach?

Methods of Acting I & II, American Film and Theater Design & Technology

– How many productions have you put on in your career?

I have directed 44 shows in my career.

– Have many productions have you put on at PBS?

I have done 19 shows at PBS — 13 Spring Musicals and 6 Fall Shows.

-Which production still has a special place in your heart and why?

Phantom of the Opera still has a place in my heart because it was such a unique opportunity to do a show of that caliber with students who could sing and act those parts.

– What makes the cast of The Little Mermaid unique?

The cast of Little Mermaid is unique because we have 4th-12th grade in the show, and two of the leads are in middle school.

-What separates the Parkview Arts department from others?

Our program is unique because we allow anyone in the school to audition, and we place everyone who auditions and wants to be in the production.  We do not cut any student.

Backstage pass with Musical Director, Mrs. Smith.

– How long have you been at Parkview?

       21 years

– What classes do you teach?

Vocal music/choir for 4th-12th grade students

– How many productions have you put on in your career?

I have directed and/or accompanied over 60 musical productions in my career. This includes PBS, area schools and community theater, and Playmakers Children’s Theater in which I am the musical director for most shows.

– Have many productions have you put on at PBS?

I have done 17 shows at PBS.

-Which production still has a special place in your heart and why?

The production that is the most special to me is the PBS production of “Beauty and the Beast.” My son, Garrett (PBS’06), played Lumiere in this show. It was great working and collaborating with him on this project.

– What makes the cast of The Little Mermaid unique?

The cast of “The Little Mermaid” is unique because we are showcasing all the divisions at PBS- the elementary, the middle school, and the high school students. It is great seeing the interaction between the varying age groups.

-What separates the Parkview Arts department from others?

Our PBS Performing Arts Department is set apart from others because our productions are not your typical high school productions. Everything is professionally done and our students have grown to expect no less.
