Parkview Students Succeed In The Math Olympiad
Nearly 300 5th graders compete at LA Elementary Math Olympiad last weekend held at Kenilworth Science and Technology School. The Olympiad is a paper-and-pencil math exam that tests the students’ basic skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Kenilworth started the Math Olympiad in 2010 and it has grown each year to now include students from about 50 schools in Louisiana.
First place in the contest was awarded to Ray Tan of Shenandoah Elementary. Anna Wang of Wildwood Elementary came in second and Mason Liner of Parkview Baptist School finished third. Samantha Talbot, also a Parkview Baptist student, finished in the top 25 with a total of ten PBS students competing in the event.
