This week in Parkview Athletics….

Our Track and Field team will compete at Regionals on Wednesday, April 25 at the University of Louisiana Lafayette. Student athletes must qualify to compete Regionals with qualifications taking place at the District 6-4A meet. PBS has several athletes who not only qualified but were also recognized as district champions. The girls team came in third overall in the district and Ariel was also recognized as the female Outstanding Field Performer.  The following athletes qualified for regionals:

  • Landace -2nd in Pole Vault
  • Trey – 1st in Pole Vault (District Champion)
  • Sydney -3rd in Discus
  • Callie -1st in 1600m (District Champion)
  • Callie -1st in 800m (District Champion)
  • Madison -3rd Triple Jump
  • Dawson -4th in Pole Vault
  • Ariel -1st in High Jump (District Champion)
  • Ariel – 1st in Javelin (District Champion)
  • Ariel – 2nd in 100m hurdles
  • Ariel – 3rd in 300m hurdles
  • Leanne – 2nd in Javelin
  • Meredith – 4th in 3200
  • Josie -1st in 3200m (District Champion)
  • Wyatt (8th grade) -2nd in 3200m

Our Tennis team leaves for the State Meet on Wednesday held at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. They have had wonderful success over the last few weeks with the following accomplishments:

  • Garrett and Alex won the Doubles Regionals without dropping a set in any match.
  • Evan and Tyler qualified for state in singles.
  • Madison and Grace qualified for state in doubles.
  • McKinley and Mady qualified for state in doubles.
  • Anna and Emily qualified for stated in singles.

Our Softball team leaves for Sulphur on Wednesday to play in the Division II quarterfinals against Thomas Jefferson on Thursday, April 26 at 2:30 p.m. The Lady Eagles were named the District 6-4A Champions this season and are the #1 seed in the LHSAA playoffs.

Our Baseball team will host Ben Franklin in the first round of the LHSAA playoffs. They will play a double header at PBS on Thursday beginning at 4:00 p.m. The Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 27-3 and were named District 6-4A Champions for the second year in a row.

Our Girls Golf Team has qualified for the State Match to be held April 30 – May 1 at Les Vieux Chenes in Lafayette.
