A Race Above The Rest
Being a student athlete requires discipline, time management, and sacrifice. So much sacrifice that 15-16 hours of your time is spent training, and your training is virtual through your coach in Tennessee. So is the case for PBS Senior Lance Abshire.
Lance has been road racing for the last 12 years and was first inspired by his father who competed in Iron Man races. As a member of LA’Sport Elite, Lance recently competed in the Louisiana and Mississippi State Championships where he took home the Junior (under 19) title and pro ½ category. He also took a trip across waters and competed in Belgium last year bringing home an incredible top 5 finish in several categories and won the junior race.
With such success in recent competitions, Lance has set his goals high with hopes of making the Worlds Team which is made up of only 6-7 people in the under 19 category.
Lance has been at Parkview Baptist School his entire life and will graduate this May as a 13-year senior.
