7th and 8th Grade Serve Day
On Tuesday of this week, over 90 of our seventh graders took place in “Serve Day” with Revive225 (FUMC’s urban home repair ministry) at Hope Community United Methodist Church and at three houses in the community that were affected by the flood. On Wednesday, over 100 eighth graders followed suit and finished up the job!
This area was devastated by the flood. Many of the homes have not been repaired and remain vacant. The students and adults painted, primed, cleaned, scraped, sanded, pulled weeds, hauled construction debris and were even heard singing while doing all of this manual labor! If you would like to know more about Revive225 or get involved in the wonderful work being done in the Greater Baton Rouge area through this ministry, contact Alex Byo, Director of Missions & Revive225 at alex@firstmethodist.org.
