Easter Message from Dr. Mayes
An Easter Message from our Superintendent
Easter is always a joyous time of the year and being back in Louisiana it seems to be even better. I love seeing our family oriented community and hearing about what everyone is doing over the Easter weekend. It is a time when we get to celebrate the awesome resurrection of our Savior and also spend time with friends and family. Even when we go through difficult times, connecting with those around us always helps. Christ endured much pain and the humiliation of the cross before His victorious resurrection. At times, our lives are that way as well. We live in a fallen world where there is heartache and pain, but we do have victory in Christ.
I am reminded of the difficult start to the year many in our school and community have faced. Many are still dealing with the loss of a loved one or the ongoing frustration of the expense and million things to deal with since the flood. As we each gather with our community, I want you to know that PBS loves you. We are a close family and we are mindful of those struggles. I so appreciate the caring and generous spirit we have through our families on our campus. I love the way everyone pulls together and supports each other. For some reason, it just seems stronger and more special in South Louisiana. I love being back home.
Take time to be thankful for what Christ has done for you and attend Good Friday and Easter services this weekend. If you do not have a church home, Parkview Baptist Church has several options for you.
- We have a Good Friday service at 5pm in the Sanctuary. This is a silent service that will be about 45 minutes long and childcare is provided. This is a great time of quiet reflection.
- We are hosting a sunrise service on Easter Sunday morning at Resthaven at 7:00am. Thank you to our football team and students who are volunteering to set up the 400 chairs needed for the service.
- On Easter Sunday, we will have 8:30 Traditional Worship, 9:45 Blended Worship and 11am Contemporary Worship.
If you do not have a church home, we would love to invite you to worship with us this weekend!
Happy Easter! Thank you for all you do for Parkview Baptist School. May each of you live in the fullness of knowing we serve a risen Savior.

Dr. Don Mayes, Superintendent
