PBS Middle School Shines at Youth Legislature
An intelligent, creative, and fun group of 86 PBS students (72—8th graders & 14—7th graders) went to the Old State Capitol to participate in National Youth Legislature this week. ere are the results of our wonderful two-day session:
Voted as Officers and Cabinet Members:
- Rylee Moore—Speaker of the House
- Shawn Russell—Secretary of Health & Welfare; Secretary of Commerce of Governor’s Cabinet
- Shea Lee—Secretary of Senate Chamber
- Isaac Ponder – Chaplain
We also had several of our students that were Bill Sponsors & Co-Sponsors (these students created their own legislative bills and lobbied for them!) that were voted into the Hall of Fame by the Teachers at the NYL.
