Band Spotlight

Several of Parkview’s band students have had the chance to let their musical gifts shine in the New Year.  Early in January, both high school and middle school students participated in the District Honor Band held at Southeastern Louisiana University.  The students pictured were selected based on an audition among 1,000 other students from East Baton Rouge, Livingston, and Ascension parishes to participate in these prestigious bands.  School musicians come together for a few short hours over the course of three days to put on an incredible concert for family and friends.  Congrats to Middle School band members: Rohan, Adele, Ashlin, Cameron, and Jonathan (not pictured).  Congrats to High school students: Kwon, Hyun, Cole, and Justin (not pictured).

Later in January, several high school students had the opportunity to perform in the All Parish Honor Band featuring high school musicians from the Baton Rouge area.  Like the District Honor Band, these students auditioned for placement in the All Parish Band.  Pictured: Cole, Amanda, Kevin, Justin, Luke, and Nathan.
