Jessica McCallum, High School Math

Welcome to Ms. McCallum! Jessica comes to us from teaching in Bogue Chitto, MS. She has a BS in Biological Engineering from LSU and an MA in Teaching Secondary Education from Mississippi State University.

She and her family attend Galilee Baptist Church in Zachary.  Ms. McCallum has her two little ones – her nephew Nicholas (4) and her niece Kensley (2 months) – pictured to the left!

Let’s get to know Ms. McCallum!

What made you want to come teach at Parkview?  I want to be able to teach math and science as tools that help us better understand how God works! I want to be a part of students learning both academically and spiritually!

What three things would you take to a desert island? Sunscreen (I burn easily), a camera, and my Bible

Favorite snowball flavor? Sour apple!

What is an awesome fact about Ms. McCallum?  I am currently learning my third language, so hopefully soon I will be trilingual 🙂 I love languages!

Why is Christian Education so important? I think that we sometimes compartmentalize our lives. We separate our relationship with Christ from everything we do. However, God created us to abide in Him and live for Him in everything we do. Christian education gives us an opportunity to show students that you can see the hands of God in every subject; it gives me the opportunity to equip students to serve God in their future careers.

Favorite Verse : It is so hard to pick a favorite because I lean on different ones depending on the situation, but I turn to 1 John 2:6 often. “Whoever who claims to live in Him, must walk as Jesus did.”
