Welcome, Mrs. Jackson!
Melissa Jackson, Early Childhood PreK Teacher
Welcome to Mrs. Jackson! (Pictured left with husband Matthew and children Isabella (3) and Leo (18 months). Mrs. Jackson comes to us right from the PBC Preschool and has her Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University. Her husband is a PBS Class of 2000 alum and her family attends Healing Place Church. Let’s get to know her a little better!
What made you want to come to Parkview? I wanted to come the Parkview, for a variety of reasons. Before I started teaching, I was a substitute teacher for Parkview and fell in love with the students, faculty, and positive Christian environment. Additionally, my husband is a 2000 alumni, and loved his experience and said before we even had children he wanted them here. Now two kids later, we have them in Parkview church’s daycare and love the atmosphere.
What three things would you take to a desert island? My three things I would take would have to be my three favorite people: my husband, and my two children. I can barely stand to go a day without them!
Why Christian Education? A Christian education is important to help parents provide their children with moral values that will shape their entire lives. A Christian education allows teachers to help shape children’s minds and heart to model Christian behavior.
Fun fact about Mrs. Jackson: I am a Native American and am registered with the Choctaw-Apache tribe of Ebarb, where my grandmother is from.
Favorite verse: Roman 8:28- “And we know that all things work together, for good to them who love God, to them who are called according to His purpose”. This verse motivates me through difficult times and situations and reminds me to trust in God’s plan.
