PBS Clinches 5th State Football Title
The Mercedes Benz Superdome was the place to be on Friday, December 4. Three Baton Rouge schools walked away victorious with Southern Lab taking home the Division IV title and Catholic High taking home their first ever state football championship. Among one of the down to the wire wins was Parkview Baptist. The Eagles were taking on a stout St. Thomas More team that was in the Superdome for the first time in school history. The Cougars took an early lead and were up at halftime 14-10.
“Our defense needs to be more aggressive,” said PBS Head Coach Jay Mayet as the team was approaching the sideline for the third quarter. His wish became a reality as his defense had three interceptions in the second quarter that would eventually seal the deal with a 24-21 win over St. Thomas More.
The Eagles brought home their 5th state title and are now 5-2 in the Superdome. Congratulations Eagles! We could not be more proud of you!
