Get to know Jolee Liles
If you have seen her speed, you know we had to catch her quickly, so please excuse the quality. Jolee Liles is not your average freshman student. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Jolee is up at 4:00 a.m. and practicing by 4:45 a.m. She concludes her workouts at 6 a.m. before swimming until 6:30 a.m. After that it is off to school like many 15 year old students.
Jolee has been swimming competitively since 2nd grade and has been on the High School swim team since 6th grade. She recently broke a 19 year old record set by PBS Alumnus, Shelly Ripple Johnston, in the 500 freestyle. When asked what that experience was like, Jolee said, “It was exciting to do that and to see how good she was when she was swimming, that is kinda cool.”
Jolee along with the PBS Swim Team will compete today at the LHSAA State Swim Meet. Please keep all of the athletes in your thoughts and prayers and enjoy the video below as we get to know Jolee Liles a little better.
