reddingChuck Redding

BS, Biology – Ole Miss; BS, Chemistry – Belhaven College

MNS, Physics – LSU

Tell us about your family.  I have been married to Katie Redding for thirteen years. We have two children. Eddie is about to turn eight and will be in the 2nd grade at PBS. Izzie is three and attends PBC Preschool. We also have a black labrador retriever named Sam who is thirteen years old.

Where were you before and what made you want to come to Parkview? I’ve been teaching Chemistry and Physics at Livonia High School for the past seven years. Ever since I moved to Baton Rouge, about fifteen years ago, I’ve always heard great things about Parkview. It also seems very similar to the high school I attended in Mississippi (Jackson Prep) for its’ scholastic and athletic accomplishments.

Where do you and your family worship on Sundays? We attend St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where my wife grew up going to church.

You get three items to take to a desert island. They are….Helicopter, BBQ pit, and a blow torch.

Why is Christian Education so important? I believe it is very important for kids to have a good foundation of faith early in life. Once they move out of their parents home, they will be become exposed to many different worldviews. As they begin to make their own choices and have the temptation to stray from their faith, they will need this foundation to draw strength from.

christmaslightsWhat is a fun fact about Chuck Redding?  I am a past winner of Channel 2’s best Christmas Lights of Baton Rouge.

I am a Star Wars fan, and I enjoy hunting, fishing and skiing. My son wants to have a deer head on his wall this year. We just have to convince momma it’s a good idea.
