5th Grade Cookie Project
The 5th grade students involved in the SOAR program got a “taste” of fractions last week. Mrs. Fitz gave each team a cookie recipe with crazy amounts for the ingredients such as 65/148 cups of flour. Each team had to decide which ingredient in their recipe had to be a whole number (the eggs) and then convert all the ingredient amounts in the recipe based on the reciprocal fraction. The test of their math skills was to make the cookies and eat them. Some students were a little nervous taking that first bite, but everyone agreed this was the tastiest test they had ever had.
Applications for the 2026–2027 school year are filling quickly! One class is already full, and availability is becoming limited across several grade levels. Apply today to reserve your student’s place at Parkview Baptist School.
