PBS Middle School Track Starts Season Off With A Bang

Our 5/6th grade boys and girls teams won the Trafton Season Opener Meet this past Saturday on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University. Our 7/8th grade boys finished 2nd while our 7/8th grade girls placed 8th. It was a fantastic start to our season in only our 2nd year of the program. Participation in our program has climbed to 55 team members. Individually, the following athletes had outstanding performances:

5/6th Girls:
Ariel Pedigo – 1st in the Discus Throw and 2nd in the High Jump
Hannah Pedigo – 1st in the 55m Hurdles and 2nd in the Long Jump and 100m Dash
Madison Lee – 2nd in the 400m Dash
400m Relay team placed 1st – Micah Luong, Madison Lee, Kiersten Park, and Hannah Pedigo
1600m Relay team placed 1st – Shea Lee, Kiersten Park, Ariel Pedigo, Madison Lee

5/6th Boys:
Matthew Jumper – 1st in the Shot Put and 2nd in the Discus Throw
Braeden Bourque – 1st in the 1600m Run and 2nd in the 800m Run
Nathan Sharp – 2nd in the 400m Dash
400m Relay team placed 1st – Isaac Ponder, Josh Pilcher, Nathan Sharp, and Braeden Bourque

7/8th Boys:
Alex Vega – 1st in the 1600m Run and 1st in the 800m run
Matt Howard – 1st in the High Jump
Kai Hensley – 1st in the 55m Hurdles and 1st in the 200m Hurdles
Reese Brumfield – 2nd in the 3200m Run
