On Tuesday, November 15th, the varsity teams competed at the LHSAA Cross Country State Meet in Natchitoches, LA. The eagles had an outstanding performance this year. The girls’ team, led by senior Amber Desselle, 8th grader Ariel Pedigo, and freshman Josie Whipp, placed 3rd in class 3A. The Lady Eagles also finished 3rd at the state meet last year. Amber placed 6th while Ariel was 7th and Josie was 9th. Other girls that made up the team were senior Kameron Tate (19th), junior Meredith Tuttle (31st), 8th graders Madison Lee (36th) and Charlotte Steelman (49th).

Other members of the team were 7th grader Schuyler Pentas (44th), Nic Noe (46th), Dawson McCulloch (48th), Landon Toups (54th), Nick Beard (59th) and Alex Vega (69th). The boys accomplished this despite two of our top runners just coming out of injuries that greatly affected their season– Dawson and Alex coming off a long.
In addition to the fantastic finish at state, we had five varsity athletes either make the Baton Rouge All-Metro or All-Metro honorable mention. For her third year in row, Amber Desselle made the Baton Rouge All-Metro Team as senior. Josie Whipp also made the All-Metro team for the first time as a freshman and first year student at Parkview Baptist School. Being recognized as honorable mention All-Metro were Kameron Tate, Ariel Pedigo, and Carter McCulloch.
Congratulations to our Eagle cross country team and their coaches on a fantastic season!
