Welcome, Ms. Starkey!
Welcome to Brittany Starkey, our new 4th Grade Teacher!
Ms. Starkey graduated from SELU with her degree in Elementary Education Grades 1-5 and most recently taught in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. She and her family worship at Journey Church in Central. Let’s get to know Ms. Starkey a little better!
What would you take to a desert island? I would bring water, a portable fan, and some batteries to keep my fan running.
What is something interesting about Ms. Starkey? I have been to Disney World 10 times and am planning on going more and I love to sing!
Why is Christian education important? A Christian education is important because I believe education and Christianity go hand in hand. It gives a solid foundation for students to grow upon and will give students the opportunity to navigate through life in a positive and encouraging way.
Favorite Verse or Quote? Isaiah 41:13 – For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand;it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”
What else do we need to know about Ms. Starkey? I was a Phi Mu at Southeastern and I met my best friend and significant other, Christian. I have a bucket list and one of the things on my list is to visit every state in the United States. I have a love for animals, specifically dogs. I also LOVE volleyball and have a passion for many sports. I love cheering on the New Orleans Saints, SELU Lions, St.Louis Cardinals, New Orleans Pelicans, and the Eagles!
