At Parkview Baptist School, we believe that true Abundant Life is found only in Jesus Christ (John 10:10; John 14:6). More than just a guiding principle, this belief is woven into every part of who we are — from academics and athletics to the arts and student life. Our mission is not only to prepare students for college and careers, but to prepare them to impact the world for Christ.
Last year, PBS welcomed Parkview Baptist Church Families Pastor, Todd Summerford, as our new Director of Spiritual Development. This important role was created to bring all aspects of spiritual formation under one unified banner, ensuring that chapels, Bible curriculum, and special events are intentionally aligned and centered on Christ.
Pastor Todd partners with division heads, faculty, and staff to ensure that every student — from infants through seniors — has opportunities to grow spiritually in age-appropriate, meaningful ways. Whether through weekly chapels, classroom devotions, small groups, or service projects, PBS students are being equipped to understand and live out their faith.
Just as we hold high standards for academic achievement, artistic excellence, and athletic performance, we are committed to placing equal value on spiritual development. Our vision is to see measurable spiritual growth in students — from developing biblical literacy and a Christian worldview, to practicing servant leadership and engaging in missions and outreach.
By intentionally building in assessments and checkpoints for spiritual progress, PBS is ensuring that students are not only learning about their faith, but also experiencing it and applying it in their daily lives.
At PBS, chapel services are vibrant times of worship and teaching, led by students, faculty, and guest speakers. Our Bible curriculum integrates truth into every subject area, shaping both hearts and minds. Special events like grade-level retreats, mission projects, and spiritual emphasis days give students opportunities to live out their faith together.
Through these programs, students discover that Abundant Life is not about circumstances or achievements, but about knowing and following Christ.
Our goal is for every student to leave PBS prepared not only for college, but for a life lived with eternal purpose. By holding spiritual development alongside academics, arts, and athletics as one of our core values, we remain committed to nurturing the whole student.
At Parkview Baptist School, Abundant Life is more than a value — it is the heartbeat of our mission.
