Yancy Wilmot Named Head Boys Basketball Coach
Parkview Baptist School is pleased to announce Yancy Wilmot has been named head boys basketball coach. Coach Wilmot will be taking over for Brandon White, who has been named Athletic Director and head boys basketball coach at Lee Magnet High.
Wilmot has served on the PBS staff for the past 8 years. During this time, he served 3 years as an assistant coach, and is currently serving as the Bible Department Chair and Senior Bible teacher.
Coach Wilmot has 12 years of coaching experience which started back in 1993 as the student assistant coach at Williams Baptist College. He also coached at Fundamental Baptist Christian Academy, Pine Hills Academy, and Doyle High School. Since 2013, Wilmot has served as the Assistant Sports Outreach Director at Istrouma Baptist Church and has led basketball mission teams to the Dominican Republic and Alabama.
Wilmot’s hometown is Baton Rouge, where he attended and played basketball at Zachary High School. After graduation, Wilmot played collegiate basketball at Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and Baptist Christian College in Shreveport.
Wilmot has been married for 18 years to his wife, Carley. Together they have two children; Cort (14) and Allie (10).
