Eagles Take Home LHSAA State Swim Meet Honors
The LHSAA State Swim meet was held last week at the Sulphur Recreation Center and our Eagles had a tremendous outcome.
Our Girls’ Swim team placed 3rd overall with only seven swimmers total, including Jolee Liles, Rylee Moore, Kameron Tate, Hannah Dickie, Caroline Jones, Julia Soileau and Karson Tate.
Freshman Jolee Liles, placed 1st in the 500 Free with a time of 5:01.09. Liles’ set the new Division III record, slashing the previous time of 5:14.24 set in 1996. Liles also finished 1st in the 200 Individual Medley.
Our girls also had success in the 200 Medley Relay placing 1st in the state. The state championship team was composed of Kameron Tate, Jolee Liles, Rylee Moore and Hannah Dickie.
Seventh grader Rylee Moore, placed 1st place in the 100 Backstroke and 2nd place in the 100 Butterfly.
Our Boys Swim Team finished 12th place overall with only four swimmers total, including John Costanza, Isaac Ponder, Brooks Moore and Evan Rogers. A special congratulations to John Costanza, who was awarded the LHSAA Academic All State Boys Swimming Composite Team.
